ANITA BRECKENRIDGE, MD

Dr. Breckenridge is a board certified fellowship-trained pediatric ophthalmologist with over 15 years experience.   She did her specialty training at the world renowned Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia, PA.  Extensive training and experience make Dr. Breckenridge one of the few ophthalmologists in Northern California who can manage both complex pediatric and adult strabimus issues whether surgical or nonsurgical in nature.  Dr. Breckenridge and her staff are also uniquely qualified to provide complete eye care to special needs children and adults.

Dr. Breckenridge grew up in Silver Spring, Maryland and attended McGill University in Montreal, Quebec receiving a B.Sc in Anatomical Sciences. She then returned to her hometown and graduated with honors from Howard University College of Medicine in Washington DC.  After medical school, Dr. Breckenridge spent a transitional intern year at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center in San Jose, California.  She then returned to the East Coast and completed a three year residency in ophthalmology at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville.  She spent her last year as chief resident.

Immediately following residency, Dr. Breckenridge joined a successful ophthalmology practice in a small town on the Olympic Peninsula of Washington.  As a general ophthalmologist she built a busy practice in just under two years.  When family demands brought her back to the East Coast, Dr. Breckenridge took the opportunity to further her training by completing a fellowship in pediatric ophthamology at Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia.

In 2001, following completion of her fellowship, Dr. Breckenridge joined Pediatric Eye Associates in Livingston, NJ. Over ten years, she built a thriving well-respected practice serving thousands of children of all ages with eye disorders as well as adults with strabismus and double vision.

Dr.Breckenridge took over Children's Eye Care of Los Gatos in 2011, and since that time the practice has expanded greatly drawing pediatric and adult patients from as far as Sacramento, Santa Rosa, Monterey, and even Seattle. She is affiliated with Good Samaritan Hospital and performs procedures at Los Gatos Surgical Center as well.
